services to help you through. If we can't help, we'll work diligently to connect you with someone who can.

CHILD FIND

 

Child find is a free community screening program for early identification of developmental delays for kids from birth to 5 years old. This includes speech/ language skills, motor skills, cognitive and social-emotional development, and vision and hearing screenings.

PARENTS AS TEACHERS/GROWING GREAT KIDS

Free child home visits by staff who are passionate about sharing child development information, as well as tips and tricks they've learned along the way. The primary mission is to provide the information, support, and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life. Visits can be at your home or another convenient community location. to help you be your child’s best first teacher.

SOCIALIZATION PLAY GROUPS

Free program that offers developmentally appropriate playtime, music, art, story time and snack. Open to any child 0-3 years with caregiver adult. No  registration is needed, but we do ask that everyone pick one or the other day,  participating on both days is not an available option. Meets twice per week during the school year and once weekly for 6 weeks in the summer.

BASIC NEEDS ASSISTANCE -

MOUNTAIN RESOURCE CENTER

Food, rent/mortgage, utilities assistance. Public benefits  enrollment assistance for food (SNAP) or health insurance. Eligibility for certain  services may vary based on residence location, household composition, income or  other factors.

Provides financial and employment support for low income families.  

FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Helps qualified individuals/families buy food.

HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM

Medical Assistance for individuals/families who qualify.

ADULT FINANCIAL

Financial Assistance for low-income adults, including Old Age  Pension, Aid to Needy Disabled, Aid to the Blind, Supplemental Security Income/Colorado Supplement (SSI/CS), and Long-Term Care.

COLORADO CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CCCAP)

The Child Care  Assistance Program (CCAP) helps eligible families who are working, going to school  or looking for employment. CCAP provides financial assistance for infants to children  age 13 and special needs youth up to age 18. Help qualifying families afford full time care, part-time care, and summer-time care. Accepting applications from  parents or caretakers who are: Employed or self-employed and earning at least minimum wage for the hours worked attending high school, college for the first  bachelor's degree or vocational program, or earning a GED or ESL.

The purpose of our Angels is to help those in NEED. We concentrate on any one that is located on the 285 Corridor. Post needs online on the My Mountain Town 285 Angels Group or on Facebook.

Description: Federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income needy persons, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food and  nutrition assistance.

Food bank serves Park County residents & others,  no income requirements, minimal paperwork, no appointments  necessary.

298 6th St,, Fairplay, CO 80440 Thrift store has low cost clothing and household goods. They also offer low cost  lunch ($6.00) to community members on Wednesdays from 11:30am - 1:00pm.

SOUTH PARK FOOD BANK

530 Front St. Fairplay CO 80440 (Entrance in rear of  building) - Provides food for those in need 10am-noon 2nd Sat of the month  Hours: 10am-1pm Saturday following the second Friday of the month Wide variety  of wholesome food including fresh produce provided to residents of South Park area;  no income requirements but I.D. required for proof of residency. Emergency  services are available at other times by appointment.

WIC – WOMEN, INFANTS & CHILDREN - FAIRPLAY

825 Clark St., Fairplay, CO 80440 - Ages served:  

pregnant, breast feeding and postpartum women and birth to 5 years. WIC Program is a nutrition education and free food  program. Provides breastfeeding education, health referrals,  and supplemental food for pregnant, breastfeeding, and  postpartum women as well as infants and children. Many working families qualify for WIC as income eligibility is higher  than many other government programs.

PEACEWORKS

60615 US Hwy 285, Bailey CO 80421 - The  Mountain Peace Shelter, providing short-term emergency  shelter for women and children victims of domestic violence,  sexual assault, stalking and other relationship violence. Safe Pets program to shelter resident pets and livestock.  

Empowerment Services Program, offering advocacy, referrals, court  accompaniment, empowerment education employment assistance, and other support services.

MOUNTAIN RESOURCE CENTER (MRC)

VICTIM ASSISTANCE – PARK COUNTY SHERIFF’S  OFFICE

The Park County Sheriff’s Office Victim Services  Program works in conjunction with law enforcement deputies to  respond to crime victims and family survivors in cases of crimes  against persons and families affected by violent and sudden  death. Victim advocates provide crisis intervention, information,  follow-up support and referrals as required by the Colorado  constitutional amendment for victim rights. The Victim Services  staff also acts as a liaison between the criminal justice system  and the victim.

THE RESOURCE EXCHANGE - EL PASO, PARK AND TELLER COUNTY 

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT SCREENING

Birth to 3 early childhood development evaluations. Areas that are evaluated are: Speech, coordination, social, and thinking skills. Families are given guidance, therapy and support to help promote their child’s development during  their everyday routines. The program is provided at no cost to families.

TRE is a nonprofit whose mission is to build independence for  people with developmental disabilities.
