Who is HIPPY for? HIPPY is a no cost program for parents of
preschool-aged children (2, 3, 4, and 5 year olds).
How does it help my family? HIPPY activities help strengthen your child’s
brain, build early reading skills, and support emotional and physical
development (and they’re FUN!). HIPPY prepares children for school. HIPPY
connects you to other parents and children through monthly group meetings
and activities like story time, fieldtrips and family picnics. HIPPY families get
9 children’s books, crayons, scissors and other supplies – for free.
How often do we meet and where? Parents receive weekly visits in their home for about an hour.
What happens during visits? During visits, trained home visitors practice
activities with you that you can do with your child at home. Weekly lessons
focus on reading, math, science, social-emotional development and motor
skills
