APPLY FOR THE 25/26 SCHOOL YEAR
Colorado Universal Preschool
All children in Colorado can apply for up to 15 hours per week of free, high-quality preschool in their year before kindergarten through Colorado’s Universal Preschool program. See more information in the Universal Preschool Guide for Families.
- Families may qualify for more free hours based on a number of qualifying factors, per available funding. See more information here.
- Depending on the provider, families have the option of paying for additional hours if desired.
- Families of 3-year-olds should contact their school district for preschool services.
- Preschool-aged children with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) should contact their Special Education Administrative Unit (AU) before registering.

Family-to-Provider Matching Rounds
Families just starting their path to preschool can browse more than 2,000 high-quality licensed providers, see if they qualify for additional hours, select their top ten preferred programs to be matched, and submit an application now through March 5.
- February 5: Deadline to apply to be matched in the first family-to-provider matching round.
- February 24: Families are notified of first round matches. Families are asked to accept or decline by March 3.
- March 5: Deadline to apply to be matched in the final family-to-provider matching round.
- March 24: Families are asked to accept or decline their matched provider by March 31.Direct Enrollment
- April 1 – Throughout School Year: Families can work directly with a Universal Preschool Provider to enroll, if space is available, through the end of the school year, after the pre-registration placement and matching rounds end.
2024-25 Universal Preschool Enrollment
Enrollment in Universal Preschool for the current 2024-25 school year is still available! Families wishing to enroll in the fall 2024 through spring 2025 school year are encouraged to browse and contact providers directly. If space is still available at the desired provider, families may submit the 2024-25 Universal Preschool enrollment application which will remain open through the end of the current school year.
